Engineering Leadership

To raise delivery quality while shipping MVPs in fast cycles.

Role

Engineering Lead (team of five)

Timeline

High-growth startup phase

Impact

MVPs shipped; clearer rituals & code quality norms

Business Goal

The organization needed credible product increments on aggressive timelines across web and mobile while keeping regressions manageable. Leadership wanted velocity without burning out contributors — which meant better scoping dialogue, tighter review expectations, and enough structure that juniors could onboard without heroics.

Problem Statement

Delivery was reactive: tickets drove the week, spikes were undocumented, and knowledge lived in chats. MVP pressure encouraged shortcuts at the boundaries of typed APIs and QA. Bridging stakeholder asks with an honest technical forecast was inconsistently staffed.

Solution

I steered toward a TypeScript-first stack where shared contracts reduced ambiguity, instituted lightweight review and pairing habits, and made trade-offs visible early in planning. Figures stay confidential under NDA — I can discuss methods, tooling choices, and how we balanced morale with milestones in screening conversations.
