WordPress Multisite Operations
To streamline operations for scalable faculty-facing web experiences.
Business Goal
Faculty-facing sites had to scale without every request becoming a bespoke ticket: consistent themes, safe plugin boundaries, predictable staging behavior, and an onboarding narrative that deputized chairs and admins to own light edits confidently.
Problem Statement
Multisite sprawl amplified risk: orphaned blogs, drifting themes, unmanaged uploads, ad hoc shortcodes, and plugin overlap that complicated updates. Operational knowledge sat with a few responders, so peak traffic around recruitment and orientation created bottlenecks.
Solution
I tightened operational patterns: inventories of network-activated tooling, repeatable provisioning checklist for subsites, guardrails around roles and forms, and communication paths when maintenance displaced editors. Sensitive metrics stay internal — I share workflow diagrams and retrospective notes with interviewers asking about multi-tenant CMS discipline.
